Zero Carbon Llanidloes

In this section we offer practical suggestions for all of us to live a more sustainable life.

If you have a good idea to add or know of local initiatives to reduce, reuse or recycle which we have missed, please do let us know by emailing info@zerocarbonllanidloes.org.uk

Reduce

Reuse

Recycle

We all need to consume less generally.  When we do buy things, we should aim to buy:

  • As locally as possible, to support local businesses and to cut down on the carbon associated with packaging and transportation
  • As seasonally as possible in terms of food – to cut the carbon associated with airfreighting or shipping from abroad and to reduce the carbon used in growing fruit and veg in heated greenhouses
  • Second hand if possible – for example through freecycle and second hand sites, charity and second hand shops, vintage fairs and market stalls
  • As good quality and long lasting as we can afford
  • With as little packaging as possible
